SECTION 53B1A

Section 53B1A of the Mon/Fayette Expressway (MFE) PA Route 51 to I-376 Project's southern section begins in West Mifflin Borough just north of the Camp Hollow Road roundabouts and runs about one mile north where it will tie in with a new interchange at Pittsburgh McKeesport Blvd. near the Richland Cemetery.

The PA Turnpike Commission awarded Trumbull Corporation the $163.5 million contract in January of 2026. Construction is expected to begin in February and is scheduled to be finished in the fall of 2029.

The contract requires Trumbull to excavate approximately 1.5 million cubic yards of earth, construct two noise walls and build four bridges including a new replacement bridge over the Union Railroad.

Pittsburgh McKeesport Blvd. (S.R. 2045) will be reconstructed to create a half interchange with the Mon/Fayette Expressway where traffic will be able to enter the toll road going southbound and exit the toll road going northbound.

A new, permanent signal will be installed at 5^th Street and Richland Avenue in Dravosburg Borough.

The remaining construction sections will go through the bidding process as funding becomes available.
