Fall 2024 Project Briefing Summary
Thank you to all who took the time to learn about the preliminary engineering of phase of work and provide feedback.

On September 26, 2024, more than 160 people attended the Project Briefing at Somerset Church of the Brethren to learn about the Allegheny Mountain Realignment Project. The goals of the briefing were to:
- Update elected officials, stakeholders and the community on the status of the project.
- Provide an overview of the work anticipated during preliminary engineering and the field studies anticipated along the selected alternative.
- Provide an opportunity to the public to give feedback.
The briefing included a detailed presentation (see link below), and public comments were accepted from 18 attendees. The 30-day comment period closed on October 25, 2024 with 25 comment forms submitted. Primary concerns shared related to the preferred alternative, water quality, habitat protection, safety, community impacts and property access. The PA Turnpike has reviewed the feedback shared and, where applicable, will incorporate the feedback into the design.
Your feedback is meaningful and will continue to be considered with all feedback throughout the life of the project. The Frequently Asked Questions section of this website will be updated with more detailed responses as the design work continues.
