Beam Erection Scheduled at Night May 8 on the Northeast Extension
The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission announced today that lane closures and traffic paces are planned at night on the Northeast Extension (I-476) for beam erection for the new bridge carrying the Turnpike over Kumry Road.
Motorists are advised of the following travel restrictions:- Thursday, May 8, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a single left lane closure with intermittent traffic paces will be in place on southbound I-476 in the vicinity of mile marker 42, just south of the Quakertown Interchange.
- Thursday, May 8, from 9:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a single left lane closure with intermittent traffic paces will be in place on northbound I-476 in the vicinity of mile marker 42, just south of the Quakertown Interchange.
The work is part of the Commission’s $180 million toll-funded project to reconstruct and widen the Northeast Extension between mileposts A38 and A44.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time while traveling through the work zone because backups and delays will occur.
