Spring 2026 Update
- East Texas Road Overhead Bridge
- Final design plans available for review
- 90% complete
- PPL is relocating the aerial line
- I-78 Overhead Bridge
- Final design plan available for review
- Design is progressing toward 90% completion by summer 2026
- Draft National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Permit application has been published in the PA Bulletin
- Coordinating with PPL on outages needed for the 500kv line over the bridge
- Continue coordination with PennDOT
- Hamilton Boulevard Overhead Bridge
- 60% design has been completed. Progressing towards 75%.
- Coordinating with utilities: PPL, Verizon, AT&T and UGI
- NPDES permit will be submitted in the second quarter of 2026
- Other Updates
- Stormwater management design and coordination with local municipalities continues
- Overhead Bridges - The Tilghman Street Bridge (SR 1002) and Lower Macungie Road Bridge (SR 2012) are currently under construction. More details can be found on the Improvements Page in the Overhead Bridge section.
- Mainline 1-476 - Preliminary engineering complete. Final design is currently on hold.
