Project Overview
This project will reconstruct and widen five miles of the Pennsylvania Turnpike from Milepost 53 to Milepost 57 in Plum Borough and Monroeville Municipality, Allegheny County. The roadway will widen from four lanes to six lanes, with three 12-foot wide travel lanes in each direction, a 26-foot median, and 12-foot shoulders.
The project also involves replacing mainline bridges over local roads, lengthening culverts, construction sound barriers, and improving stormwater drainage through the area.
Upon completion, this reconstruction and widening will enhance safety and mobility for travelers on this section of the interstate.
