Fall 2025 Update
Mainline I‑76 from MP 26 to 28 is in Preliminary Engineering. The design team recently completed a feasibility study to widen Rochester Road from Haine School Road to Thomson Drive as part of an agreement with PennDOT District 10.
The design of this project will be divided into two phases.
- Preliminary Engineering: This phase includes evaluation of widening the turnpike corridor to the roadway configuration above and the study of potential environmental and community impacts in the project area. This information will assist the project team in determining a preferred alternative that will be further studied and refined during the next phase.
- Final Design: During this phase the preferred alternative will be further refined. Details about specific right of way and easement requirements will be finalized. The timeframe for Final Design is unknown at this time.
