Breezewood Interchange Map 2025

Summer 2026 Update

Beginning in March 2026, the PA Turnpike Commission (PTC) sent project initiation letters to area businesses, local and elected officials, and property owners located within the general footprint of the design study area. The letters explained the nature of the project and included a link to the project website and contact information for questions or concerns.

On April 16, the PTC held a meeting with individuals that had met with them in April 2025, before the project was awarded to Benesch, the PTC’s prime design consultant. The April 16 meeting at the Breezewood Volunteer Fire Company fire hall introduced representatives of the PTC and its consultant project team and communicated additional details about the project. The PTC project team also engaged in an open discussion with attendees after the presentation. Display boards illustrating the project schedule and design study area were made available for review.

After the April 16 meeting, the project team distributed Notice of Intent to Enter letters to property owners within the design study area to advise that upcoming fieldwork performed for this project may require access to their property.

Upcoming activities underway and to be initiated during summer 2026 include traffic counts, surveys, environmental, and right of way investigations. Public engagement activities will also continue throughout the preliminary engineering phase.
