Due to the recent decline in certain bat species populations, it is important to protect the critical habitat of these species including hibernacula. Bat surveys within the project study area were conducted. The following links provide additional information on Pennsylvania bats.

Environmental Document
The PTC's Allegheny Mountain Realignment Project's Environmental Document was finalized in November 2021. The preferred alternative was selected because it best balances all of the operational, safety, cost, and environmental considerations that are components of the project.
