  • PA Turnpike Strives to Keep Waterways Clean Through MS4

    The PA Turnpike's MS4 program is an initiative to reduce pollutants from draining into Pennsylvania's waterways. The program, led by engineer project manager Nick Noss, requires MS4 training for all employees and contractors, and sets goals for reducing sediment entering urban waterways.

  • Turnpike Efforts Reduce Stormwater Runoff

    The PA Turnpike is dedicated to environmental responsibility beyond Earth Day. The Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) program works year-round to reduce pollutants from roadways. The Turnpike is not only designing new systems, but also maintaining them long-term to ensure a cleaner environment.

  • Turnpike Wins International Award for Social Responsibility

    The PA Turnpike received a 2022 Toll Excellence Award for Social Responsibility from the International Bridge, Tunnel and Turnpike Association. The award recognizes the Turnpike’s MS4 program for its successful efforts in reducing stormwater runoff pollutants through public outreach, education, and technology.
