Eastbound PA Turnpike to Close at Night May 4 Between Downingtown and Route 29 for Reconstruction in Chester County
The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission announced today that the eastbound Turnpike (I-76) will close at night on May 4 for milling and paving under the Commission’s $214 million project to reconstruct the highway between mileposts 312 and 316 in Chester County.
Motorists are advised of the following travel restriction:
- Sunday, May 4, from 12:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m., eastbound I-76 will be closed between the Downingtown (Exit 312) and Route 29 (Exit 320) interchanges.
During the closure, motorists will be directed to exit at Downingtown, south on Route 100, east on U.S. 30, then north on Route 29 to reenter the Turnpike.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling because backups and delays may occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
Visit the Turnpike’s Milepost 312-316 website for more information on this project.
