Spring 2026 Update
Design is 60% complete. 75% is the next major design milestone, tentatively scheduled by the end of 2026. Environmental studies continue to advance in support of the environmental permitting process. Fieldwork is also underway to inform the design team of key features as they make every effort to minimize impacts to the community and the environment.
You may come across field crews conducting:
- Geotechnical Work - Continued drilling will occur as the design progresses.
- Utility Investigations - Subsurface utilities are being located off the shoulder of I-476 at Milepost A50.6, between Main Road West and Mill Road bridges.
- Stormwater Management - Infiltration testing is underway and will continue into the summer along both sides of the PA Turnpike. All work is being performed during daytime hours.
- Wetland
Investigations – Additional fieldwork is planned to begin in mid-April and
continue through mid-June. Work will be performed along both sides of the
Turnpike.
Public feedback from the last public meeting continues to be referenced as the final design phase continues. Please note that the noise displays shared at that public meeting are being updated and will be posted to the website when complete.
