Home Toll Calculator Toll and Vehicle Details
The type of vehicle you drive affects how the PA Turnpike determines the toll. In addition to axle count, some tolls are affected by the height of your vehicle. Vehicles over 7'6" in height are affected at the Toll Points listed below.

Axle-Height Based Systems

  • Turnpike I-76/276
  • Turnpike I-476, Northeast Extension
  • Turnpike 576, Southern Beltway

Axle-Height Based Vehicle Classification

L is vehicle height of 7' 6" or lower

2L2 axle, low profile2L Axel Graphic

Low Profile

Example: Vehicle Class = 2L

2 = Number of Axles
L = Low Profile
Vehicle Height is less than < 7' 6"

High Profile

Example: Vehicle Class = 2H

2 = Number of Axles
H = High Profile
Vehicle Height is greater than > 7' 6"

  • Toll 376, Beaver Valley Expressway
  • Turnpike 66, Amos K. Hutchinson Bypass
  • Turnpike 43, Mon/Fayette Expressway

Class 2 3 Axle Vehicles
Class 3 4 Axle Vehicles
Class 4 5 Axle Vehicles
Class 5 6+ Axle Vehicles

Please Note:

If your trip includes eastbound travel on I-76 from Gateway Barrier T2 (Ohio Border) to any exit east of #29 Cranberry, you will pass through two different classification systems. The toll at Gateway Barrier is based on the axle classification system, while tolls incurred east of #29 Cranberry are based on the axle-height classification system

If your trip includes westbound travel on I-76/276 from Delaware River Bridge H43 (New Jersey Border) to any exit west of Delaware River Bridge, you will pass through two different classification systems. The toll at Delaware River Bridge is based on the axle classification system, while tolls incurred west of Delaware River Bridge are based on the axle-height classification system.
