Early Morning Closure Scheduled Westbound Between Downingtown and Morgantown Interchanges
MIDDLETOWN, Pa. — The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission (PA Turnpike) advises motorists traveling westbound on the PA Turnpike (Interstate 76) that road will be closed from midnight until 5 a.m. on Sunday, August 16, 2026 between the Downingtown (Exit 312) and the Morgantown (Exit 298) Interchanges.
The closure will allow crews to conduct required bridge work around milepost 304.4. Eastbound traffic will be able to proceed normally through the corridor. The following detour will be in place for westbound traffic at Downingtown:
- PA 100 North, 9 miles
- PA 23 West, 12.4 miles
- PA 10 North, 1 mile
- Re-enter PA Turnpike at Morgantown Interchange (Exit 298)
Pennsylvania State Police and PA Turnpike personnel will be positioned at the impacted areas to assist drivers. Changeable message signs will also provide information on this closure. Motorists are encouraged to plan travel accordingly. Work schedules are subject to change based on weather conditions.
