Early Morning Closure Southbound on Northeast Extension at Wyoming Valley Interchange
Scheduled for early morning hours to minimize traffic impacts
LUZERNE COUNTY, Pa. — The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission (PA Turnpike) advises drivers traveling southbound on the Northeast Extension (Interstate 476) that the road will be closed on Monday, June 30 from 1 a.m. to 3 a.m. at the Wyoming Valley Interchange (Exit 115) to allow PA Turnpike crews to safely repair tolling equipment on the gantry at MP 112.
Southbound travelers will be routed off the Northeast Extension at Wyoming Valley and directed to the Pocono Interchange (Exit 95) using the following suggested detour:
• PA 315 South 1.4 miles
• I-81 South 23.7 miles
• I-80 East 16.8 miles
• Re-enter at Pocono Interchange
All northbound traffic and travelers entering the Northeast Extension southbound at the Wilkes-Barre Interchange (Exit 105) will not be impacted.
Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) and PA Turnpike personnel will be positioned at the impacted areas to assist drivers. Changeable message signs will also provide information on the closure. Motorists are encouraged to plan travel accordingly. Work schedules are subject to change based on weather conditions.
