Road Closure Scheduled Between Quakertown and Lehigh Valley Interchanges
Maintenance work being done during overnight hours to minimize traffic impacts
MIDDLETOWN, Pa. — The Pennsylvania Turnpike (PA Turnpike) advises motorists traveling on the Northeast Extension (Interstate 476) in Lehigh and Bucks County of an upcoming overnight road closure between the Quakertown (Exit 44) and Lehigh Valey (Exit 56) Interchanges.
As part of annual maintenance work in the corridor, northbound lanes between Quakertown and Lehigh Valley will be closed from 12 a.m. to 6 a.m. on Sunday, April 27. The reverse will be planned in the near future, where PA Turnpike crews will close the southbound lanes between Lehigh Valley and Quakertown.
The following suggested detour will be in place during the northbound closure:
NORTHBOUND DETOUR
• PA Route 663 North 3.3 miles
• PA Route 309 North 9.3 miles
• Interstate 78 West 6.3 miles
• PA Route 309 North 1.0 miles
• U.S. Route 22 West 1.1 miles
• Re-enter at Lehigh Valley Interchange #56
Pennsylvania State Police and PA Turnpike personnel will be positioned at the impacted areas to assist drivers. Changeable message signs will also provide information on this closure. Motorists are encouraged to plan travel accordingly. Work schedules are subject to change based on weather conditions.
