PA Turnpike Closure Scheduled Westbound Between SR 29 & Downingtown Interchanges

Overnight closure scheduled to minimize traffic impacts

CHESTER COUNTY, Pa. — The Pennsylvania Turnpike (PA Turnpike) advises motorists that a road closure is scheduled impacting westbound traffic. 

The PA Turnpike (Interstate 276) will be closed Sunday, November 17, from 12 and 7 a.m. between the State Route 29 (Exit #320) and Downingtown (Exit #312) Interchanges to allow PA Turnpike crews to conduct paving work to ensure a safe transition to new interchange ramps. 

During the closure, the following suggested detour will be in place: 

• PA 29 South 1.3 miles
• Right-turn Swedesford Rd West 0.3 miles
• US 202 South 3.2 miles
• US 30 West 2.3 miles
• PA 100 North 4 miles
• Re-enter at the Downingtown Interchange #312 

Eastbound traffic will not be impacted. Pennsylvania State Police and PA Turnpike personnel will be positioned at the impacted areas to assist westbound drivers. Changeable message signs will also provide information on this closure. Motorists are encouraged to plan travel accordingly. Work schedules are subject to change based on weather conditions.
