Overnight Closure Scheduled Southbound on Northeast Extension
Overnight work scheduled to minimize traffic delays for customers
CARBON COUNTY, Pa. — The Pennsylvania Turnpike (PA Turnpike) advises motorists traveling on the Northeast Extension (Interstate 476) that a road closure is scheduled southbound between the Pocono (Exit 95) and State Route 903 (Exit 87) Interchanges.
The closure is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 1 at 11 p.m. until Saturday, Nov. 2 at 6 a.m. to allow crews to continue conduct bridge work at the Hawk Falls Bridge. The following suggested detour will be in place:
I-80 East, 7.8 miles
❖ PA Route 115 South, 1.8 miles
❖ PA Route 903 South, 7.1 miles
❖ Re-enter at the PA 903 Interchange #87
Pennsylvania State Police and PA Turnpike personnel will be positioned at the impacted areas to assist drivers. Changeable message signs will also provide information on the closure. Motorists are encouraged to plan travel accordingly. Work schedules are subject to change based on weather conditions.
