Northeast Extension Closures Scheduled Between Quakertown and Lansdale for Traffic Shift
Overnight work scheduled to minimize traffic delays for customers
MIDDLETOWN, Pa. — The Pennsylvania Turnpike (PA Turnpike) advises motorists traveling on the Northeast Extension (Interstate 476) that road closures are scheduled between the Quakertown Interchange (Exit 44) in Bucks County and Lansdale Interchange (Exit 31) in Montgomery County to allow for traffic lanes to be shifted as part of the Milepost A38-A44 Total Reconstruction Project.
Southbound lanes will be closed on Sunday, Nov. 3 from 12 a.m. to 5 a.m. in the corridor. A single lane closure will occur for a few hours before and after the full closure so motorists should be prepared for slow moving traffic.
Northbound lanes will be closed on Sunday, Nov. 10 from 12 a.m. to 6 a.m. in the corridor. A single lane closure will occur for a few hours before and after the full closure so motorists should be prepared for slow moving traffic.
During the full directional closures, the following suggested detours will be in place:

Pennsylvania State Police and PA Turnpike personnel will be positioned at the impacted areas to assist drivers. Changeable message signs will also provide information on this closure. Motorists are encouraged to plan travel accordingly. Work schedules are subject to change based on weather conditions.
