Overnight Delays Possible at Irwin Interchange Next Week
Nighttime traffic controls to be in place through next weekend
IRWIN, PA — The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission advises motorists entering and exiting the PA Turnpike at the Irwin Interchange (Exit 67) to be prepared for stopped or slowed traffic in the evening and overnight hours between Monday, July 8 and Sunday, July 14 due to construction.
The work is scheduled overnight work to minimize traffic delays for customers. Pennsylvania State Police will be assisting with traffic control during the following times at the interchange to allow construction work to be done at the interchange safely:
Monday, July 8, 6 p.m. – Tuesday, July 9, 6 a.m.
Tuesday, July 9, 6p.m. – Wednesday, July 10, 6 a.m.
Wednesday, July 10, 6p.m. – Thursday, July 11, 6 a.m.
Thursday, July 11, 7 p.m. – Friday, July 12, 6 a.m.
Friday, July 12, 7:30 p.m. – Saturday, July 13, 7 a.m.
Saturday, July 13, 6 p.m. – Sunday, July 14, 7 a.m.
During these times, traffic will be stopped for brief periods. State Police and Turnpike personnel will be positioned at the impacted areas to assist drivers. Changeable message signs will also provide information. Work schedules are subject to change based on weather conditions.

This roadwork is part of the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission (PTC)'s mission to operate a safe, reliable, customer-valued toll road system that supports national mobility and commerce. In 2023, the PTC supported more than $690 million in construction bids for roadway maintenance and improvements to modernize the Turnpike and improve customer experience, including resurfacing more than 46 miles of roadway, undertaking total reconstruction of 27 miles of roadway, an all-time high, and replacing two major bridges at Beaver River and Hawk Falls.
