PA Turnpike Advises Fuel Will Be Temporarily Unavailable at South Somerset Service Plaza Starting March 11

Other amenities, such as food and charging stations, will remain open during 10-week shutdown.

SOMERSET COUNTY, PA —The PA Turnpike Commission (PTC) advises that gas and diesel fuel will not be available at the South Somerset Service Plaza, Somerset County, Milepost 112.3 eastbound, beginning at 7:30 a.m. on Monday, March 11. Fuel will be unavailable at that service plaza for a period of approximately 10 weeks as the Turnpike’s fuel provider, 7-Eleven, is replacing the underground fuel tanks, fuel lines and installing new fuel dispensers at the plaza’s fuel pump.

During this time, eastbound motorists needing fuel who wish to remain on the Turnpike may travel to the South Midway Service Plaza for fuel, approximately 35 miles from the South Somerset Service Plaza.

While there will not be fuel available at South Somerset, additional amenities such as restrooms, the convenience store, food concepts and the Tesla Electric Super Charger station will all remain open.
