PA Turnpike Extends Deadline for Allegheny Tunnel Project Comments

PA Turnpike Extends Deadline for Allegheny Tunnel Project Comments

The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission (PTC) is extending the deadline for public comments concerning the Allegheny Tunnel Transportation Improvement Project. On January 16 the PTC and representatives from L.R. Kimball held a public open house to present its analysis of the six alternatives to the current Allegheny Tunnel located in Somerset County on the PA Turnpike.

During the open house, guests were encouraged to fill out a comment form to leave behind or take with them to complete and mail prior to the stated deadline. Unfortunately, there was a typo within the address and not all comment forms may be received.

To rectify the situation, the deadline for comments is being extended to Feb. 27 and the new comment form with the updated address is being posted on the website at:

https://www.patpconstruction.com/allegtunn/map.aspx

To be clear the updated address for mailing comments is:

615 West Highland Ave

Ebensburg, PA 15931

In addition, each open house attendee who signed in and listed their address will be mailed a comment form with a postage-paid envelope to be returned. County and township officials will also have copies of the updated comment form to distribute as needed.

For more information about the six alternatives and the information presented at the open house, please visit the above website.
