Governor Tom Wolf has ordered the Commonwealth flag to fly at half-staff.
Gov. Tom Wolf has ordered Pennsylvania flags at the Capitol and all public buildings and across the state lowered to half-staff to honor Arizona Senator John McCain.
McCain passed away Saturday. He was 81.
“Senator John McCain dedicated his entire life to his country and we owe him a debt of gratitude for his sacrifice and contributions over decades of service,” Wolf said in a statement. “Senator McCain embodied the core principles of American citizenship and he put his country over himself at every turn. He will be missed.”
Wolf said the Pennsylvania flag should be lowered through sunset on the day of interment.
