Governor Tom Wolf has ordered the Commonwealth Flag to fly at half-staff
To honor United States Marshals Service Deputy Christopher David Hill.
Governor Tom Wolf has ordered the Commonwealth Flag on the Capitol Complex and throughout the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to fly at half-staff to honor United States Marshals Service Deputy Christopher David Hill.
“Frances and I are deeply saddened to learn of the loss of Deputy U.S. Marshal Christopher David Hill today while he was serving a warrant on a fugitive in Harrisburg as part of a Marshals Service task force,” Governor Wolf said. “He served his fellow Pennsylvanians, the Marshals Service, our country, and our commonwealth with honor and integrity. We join all Pennsylvanians in mourning his loss, and send our sincerest sympathies, thoughts, and prayers to his family, friends, and all the women and men of the U.S. Marshals Service.
“We continue to wish for a full and quick recovery for the two police officers – one from York City Police and one from Harrisburg Police – wounded in the shooting.”
Deputy Christopher David Hill was killed while on duty January 18, 2018.
The Commonwealth Flag shall be lowered to half-staff until sunset on Thursday, January 25, 2018. All Pennsylvanians are invited to participate in this tribute.
The United States Flag shall remain at full staff during this tribute.
