Drone Footage and Filming
No drone videography or other unmanned aircraft operations are permitted on or from the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission’s property including within its right-of-way, without a right-of-entry agreement executed with the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission. This agreement requires seven business days for approval.
Drone operators flying outside of Commission right-of-way or property must comply with all applicable federal airspace regulations. Small, unmanned aircraft must not interfere with emergency operations or fly above people or on the roadway, as they can lead to accidents and disrupt emergency and roadway operations.
The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission will report any unauthorized or unsafe drone activity to the appropriate federal, state and local authorities, including Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the Pennsylvania State Police and local law enforcement agencies.
