PA Turnpike Launches Turnpike TV

PA Turnpike Launches Turnpike TV

Videos Series Aims to Educate & Enhance Public Engagement

MIDDLETOWN, PA – The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission (PA Turnpike) is reinforcing its commitment to transparent public engagement with the launch of “Turnpike TV,” a new video series offering valuable information about its infrastructure projects and efforts to improve safety, access and mobility across the Commonwealth.

“Turnpike TV” is an approachable resource for customers, communities and stakeholders that covers construction projects, environmental initiatives, infrastructure improvements and frequently asked questions about decision-making.

“The Turnpike is a vital part of Pennsylvania’s transportation network, and we know our customers and communities have questions about how we operate,” said PA Turnpike CEO Mark Compton. “‘Turnpike TV’ provides straightforward answers to help foster positive relationships with the communities we support.”

Video topics include Being a Good Neighbor; Preliminary Design; Final Design; Right of Way; Noise Walls; General Construction; Capital Plan; Total Reconstruction; New Access and Expansion; and Bridges.

“We recognize that infrastructure projects impact residents, businesses and travelers,” said PA Turnpike Chief Engineer Brad Heigel. “Many of the decisions we make – about construction timelines, bridge repairs, or noise mitigation – are rooted in extensive planning and community feedback. ‘Turnpike TV’ allows us to share these insights in a way that’s easy to understand.”

The PA Turnpike’s ongoing commitment to safety and improved community relations includes January’s launch of Open Road Tolling east of Reading and on the Northeast Extension and its 500-mile fiber optic broadband network, increasing physical and digital connectivity in traditionally underserved communities.

“Turnpike TV” is live on the PA Turnpike’s website at https://www.paturnpike.com/turnpiketv. Additional video, short clips, b-roll, and interviews are also available for our media partners.

A national transportation leader, the Pennsylvania Turnpike (PA Turnpike) is the second largest tolling facility in the United States with the most miles. The PA Turnpike proudly supports safety and convenience for its more than 550,000 daily customers through 24-7 roadside assistance, round-the-clock food and fuel at 17 service plazas and a dedicated maintenance force and State Police Troop. The PA Turnpike’s approximately 1,400-person local workforce is unified in its mission; to operate a safe, reliable, customer-valued toll road system that supports national mobility and commerce.
