Lane Restrictions Planned in Beaver County as Beaver River Bridge Replacement Project Continues

Lane restrictions planned in Beaver County as Beaver River Bridge Replacement project continues.

BEAVER COUNTY, PA —The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission (PTC) and Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) advise drivers that single-lane restrictions will be in place on Big Beaver Boulevard (SR 18) beginning Monday, September 11th at 7:00 AM.

The restrictions will be in place around-the-clock on a stretch of Big Beaver Blvd. that runs one mile north to one mile south of the Pennsylvania Turnpike (I-76) interchange, in the boroughs of Big Beaver and Homewood. This is a step in the process as the Turnpike continues its work on the Beaver River Bridge Replacement Project. This project includes the total reconstruction and widening of the Turnpike to three lanes in each direction from Milepost 12 to Milepost 14, and the building of a new bridge over the river.

The lane closures on Big Beaver Blvd. will allow crews to safely remove and backfill curbs, construct crossover for future traffic patterns, and install additional drainage areas. The traffic pattern is set to be in place until Friday, October 10th at 5:00 PM.
