Overnight Closure at SR29 Interchange for Toll Facilities Demolition
Overnight Closures Scheduled Between Pittsburgh and Irwin Interchanges
Closures for seasonal maintenance work scheduled to minimize traffic impacts
NEW STANTON, Pa. — The Pennsylvania Turnpike (PA Turnpike) is scheduling overnight road closures between the Pittsburgh (Exit 57) and Irwin (Exit 67) interchanges.
To allow PA Turnpike crews to safely conduct annual maintenance work in the corridor,; including drain cleaning, roadway sealing and sweeping, the following closures are required:
- Sunday, April 12, 12 a.m. to 5 a.m., eastbound at Pittsburgh to Irwin
- Sunday, April 19, 12 a.m. to 5 a.m., westbound at Irwin to Pittsburgh
The following suggested detours will be in place during the respective closures:

Pennsylvania State Police and PA Turnpike personnel will be positioned at the impacted areas to assist drivers. Changeable message signs will also provide information on this closure. Motorists are encouraged to plan travel accordingly. Work schedules are subject to change based on weather conditions.
