Training

One of PennTIME's core missions is to ensure that all responders across the commonwealth have access to the proper, and necessary, training. We are pleased to offer a free training course that covers all the latest policies, procedures and best practices for organizations involved with traffic incident management. TIM Training is a four-hour course that can be conducted on-site at your facility, and brings together large groups of multi-discplinary responder agency personnel for interactive, hands-on incident management exercises. Training will be led by experienced instructors who have been trained and certified by the Federal Highway Administration to deliver the course material.

The purpose of this course is to make first responders (and ANYONE whose work puts them on our roadways) aware of safe, quick clearance strategies for Traffic Incident Management. It gives detailed instruction and examples that involves clearing an incident scene as soon as practical to restore normal traffic flow while also optimizing operational efficiency for all personnel involved in managing traffic incidents.

Participants completing this training will receive a certificate for 4 hours of training in the following credit areas depending on their specific discipline:

  • Professional Development Hours (PDH)
  • Continuing Education Units (CEU)
  • Continuing Law Enforcement Education (CLEE)

Don't have time to train with us in person?
No problem....we've got you covered online!

PennTIME recognizes that everyone's time is constantly in demand. Finding the time to attend a 4-hour class may simply not be in the cards for you. That's why we are pleased to offer this TIM Training online through the TRAIN PA Learning Management System for all participants and the PA Virtual Training Network (PAVTN) for municipal law enforcement officials. This web-based blended learning course allows you to take the same 4-hour training at your own pace, and will provide you with the same professional development credits as the in-person training.
