CEO Intern Fellows Program for Diverse Groups
What is the CEO Intern Fellows Program?
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Intern Fellows Program is designed to introduce college juniors and
seniors from underrepresented groups to careers in transportation through intern fellowships with the
Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission (PTC). CEO Intern Fellows receive a full professional enrichment
experience that includes participation in a group project assigned by the executive leadership of the
organization and concludes with a presentation to the members of the senior staff. In addition to the
opportunity to gain real work experience at the PTC.
What is the program objective?
To address the future workforce needs of the transportation field, specifically in the STEM areas
(science, technology, engineering and math) along with other essential functions such as
administration, communications and finance.
What are the eligibility requirements?
Students must meet the following requirements to participate in the program:
- Must have at least a 3.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale)
- Attend an accredited undergraduate program at any 2-4-year college or university
- Recent college transcript
- Letter of recommendation from a professor
- Interview highlighting interest in a fellowship with the PA Turnpike Commission
- Must demonstrate the ability to commit to the program for its duration
How long does the program last?
The standard work schedule for interns is 30-40 hours per week starting May 13, 2020 through August
15, 2020.
What is the rate of pay?
The rate of pay is $15.00 per hour.
What is the location for the program?
The program is administered at the PTC’s Central Administration Building (CAB) located at 700 S. Eisenhower Blvd., Middletown, PA.
