Work to begin on Hulton Road in Plum Borough, Allegheny County June 28


The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission is alerting motorists that traffic restrictions will begin on Hulton Road (State Route 2058) in Plum Borough, Allegheny County June 28 for turnpike bridge work.

From June 28 through July 2 flaggers will be in stationed on Hulton Road between Eastern Avenue and Frankland Avenue. They will be alternating single-lane traffic in each direction weekdays between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. while crews prepare the roadway for construction.

From July 7 through August 9 Hulton Road will be closed between Eastern Avenue and Frankland Avenue for crews to upgrade the drainage and make other roadway improvements. A 14-mile, suggested detour will be posted directing traffic to:

Allegheny River Blvd. to

Coal Hollow Road to

Frankstown Road to

Leechburg Road to

Unity Road and back onto Hulton Road.

The construction on Hulton Road, which runs under the turnpike at milepost 49.53, is an early-action project for the future total reconstruction between mileposts 49 to 53. For more information on this project go to https://www.patpconstruction.com/mp49to53/.
