PA Turnpike Commission Joins Fight Against Heart Disease

PTC Goes Red Feb. 14, 2006

The Pa. Turnpike is joining the American Heart Association to call attention to women’s No. 1 killer – heart disease. On Feb. 14, the two organizations will hold a joint press conference announcing that “ America’s first superhighway” will go red for women at its 59 toll plazas and five of its service plazas.

The press conference is part of American Heart Association’s national Go Red For Women campaign, introduced in February 2004, to raise awareness that heart disease is the No. 1 killer of women in the nation. The annual month-long campaign focuses on heart disease awareness and steps women can take to protect them and their families.
