Toll information for Hurricane Irma Responders Traveling on the PA Turnpike

  • The PA Turnpike Commission is required to charge a toll for all travel.

  • There is no emergency declaration in Pennsylvania that permits the waiving of tolls for Hurricane Irma response.

  • Responders to Hurricane Irma are advised to use the E-ZPass Only lanes for entry and exit on the Pennsylvania Turnpike.

  • Responders who exit via the cash lanes will be required to pay for their toll at the time of exit and should use the E-ZPass/Ticket lanes to obtain a ticket at entry and use the Ticket/Cash lanes to pay their toll when exiting.

  • Responders who use the E-ZPass lanes without an E-ZPass transponder will be issued violation notices.

  • Upon receipt of the violation notices, contact the PA Turnpike Commission’s E-ZPass Customer Service Center at 877.736.6727 and select option 2 for violations.

  • The PTC E-ZPass Customer Service Center will work with the responders to adjust the amounts indicated on their violation notices to the tolls for their actual travel or pattern of travel.
