The Mahoning River Bridge near the northern terminus of the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission's 17-mile portion of Pa. Route 60 in Beaver and Lawrence counties was
designated the Thomas J. Fee Bridge during a ceremony held last September . Mr. Fee
(left), a Lawrence County commissioner who served 13 consecutive two-year terms
(through 1994) in the Pennsylvania House, is pictured with his wife Frances, New
Castle attorney Kathleen Fee-Baird, one of the couple's six children, and Turnpike
Commission Vice Chairman James J. Dodaro. Mr. Fee's support was critical to the
planning, design and construction of the Beaver Valley Expressway. The $21 million
bridge over the Mahoning River valley opened in November 1991.
