The Pennsylvania-Made Craft Centers at the Zelienople and North Neshaminy Service Plazas are now open and are a great success. The craft centers have made available to Pennsylvania Turnpike customers handmade gifts and crafts created by the Keystone state's own artists.
Located at Milepost 21 eastbound on the Turnpike near Ohio and Milepost 351 westbound near New Jersey, the craft centers offer a variety in both price and selection. A particularly interesting line of items is produced by artist Jonathan Simons. It includes a selection of handmade wooden spoons, spatulas, forks and other utensils.
Based in
Kempton, PA, Jonathan has turned his love for woodworking into a
successful business. Jonathan's Spoons, his shop in eastern
Pennsylvania, ships his solid cherry utensils all the way to
Europe and Japan for sale, as well as across the United States.
A successful selling line at both craft centers, the unique wooden utensils range in price according to work and design, and have attracted a potpourri of interested shoppers. It matters not if you are interested in crafts, these wooden spoons appeal to the cook in everyone because there is something special about preparing a meal using a wooden spoon.
On your next visit to one of the Pennsylvania-Made Crafts Centers, make sure to look for Jonathan's handmade items.
