TRAFFIC
ADVISORY
STOPPAGES
SCHEDULED SATURDAY, LANE CLOSURES THIS WEEKEND
AND NEXT WEEK FOR WORK ON OAKMONT COUNTRY CLUB OVERPASS
Traffic
on the Pennsylvania Turnpike Interstate 76 mainline near the Allegheny
River will be stopped periodically on Saturday, Sept. 7 so that crews can
erect steel beams for a second overhead crossing of the Turnpike being
built by Oakmont Country Club.
Four
stoppages are scheduled. None will exceed 30 minutes. The first two
stoppages, at approximately 10 am and then 60 to 90 minutes later, will
affect westbound traffic only.
The
two other stoppages will occur late Saturday, the first at approximately
10 pm, and will affect all traffic.
Single-lane
restrictions also will be required on Saturday and Sunday, ending at 2 am
Sunday, Sept. 8, and through the coming week (Sept. 9-13). All weekday
lane closures will occur between 7 pm and 6 am.
The
construction site is at Milepost 48.7, one mile east of the Turnpike’s
Allegheny Valley interchange with Pa. Route 28. MA Beech Corporation is
Oakmont Country Club’s contractor for the new bridge.
