TRAFFIC  ADVISORY

WORK ON CRACKER JACK ROAD WILL REQUIRE
TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS NEXT WEEK IN AREA
OF MAPLE CREEK MINING ENTRANCE

Traffic on Cracker Jack Road (State Route 1067) in eastern Washington County will be restricted during daylight hours next week (July 15 through July 19) for work to improve sight lines on the road near its junction with the entrance to Maple Creek Mining, Inc.  Through traffic is advised to avoid Cracker Jack Road during this period.

An alternating single-lane pattern will be used through the construction area, located at the border of Fallowfield and Nottingham Townships. Motorists also will be subjected to periodic traffic stoppages of up to 15 minutes.  Normal traffic patterns are to resume by the afternoon of Friday, July 19.

A bridge carrying the Maple Creek Mining access road over the new Turnpike 43 was built as part of the Turnpike Commission's construction of the 17-mile Mon/Fayette Expressway Project between Interstate 70 in Fallowfield Township and Pa. Route 51 in Jefferson Hills Borough, Allegheny County.

The bridge and access road, which are not public passages, were built because Maple Creek Mining’s property was severed by the new expressway.
