The Pennsylvania Turnpike reminds motorists that the ongoing construction project in Franklin County at milepost 191 to 197 (between Willow Hill Interchange #14 and Blue Mountain Interchange #15) is causing significant delays possibly in excess of one hour. Backups will likely occur for westbound traffic between 2 p.m. and 11 p.m. Friday and for eastbound traffic between 2 p.m. and 11 p.m. Sunday. Motorists should consider rescheduling travel plans to avoid this section of the Turnpike. ALTERNATE ROUTES To avoid Turnpike delays, motorists may want to consider an alternate route:
Direction cards for each of the above detours will be available from toll collectors at each of the Interchanges. Traffic at milepost 191 to 197 is reduced to one lane in each direction. Four-lane traffic patterns will resume before Thanksgiving and remain until March 2000, when eastbound traffic will again be restricted to one lane through mid-May. For up-to-date information, the Turnpike advises motorists approaching the Interchanges to tune to 1640AM when alerted by signs. A separate radio station, 530AM, has been set up for those travelling within the construction zone. Motorists Are Urged To Stay Alert And Be Aware |
