Construction

The southernmost section of the Northeastern Extension includes the reconstruction and widening of nearly six miles of roadway and bridge reconstruction starting approximately two-tenths of a mile north of the Mid-County Interchange (Milepost A20.31) and ending just south of Berks Road (Milepost A25.67) encompassing Plymouth, Whitpain and Worcester Townships, Montgomery County.

Walsh Construction Company of Canonsburg, Pa. began work on this massive $191 million (design & construction costs) reconstruction project in January 2011 and construction is expected to continue through fall 2014.
