The
purpose of this web site is to provide you with timely, accurate
construction project information to facilitate a favorable travel
experience when using Pennsylvania's Turnpike system.
Keeping
you informed about planned construction activity on the Turnpike will
help you to prepare for safe navigation through construction work zone
areas.
This project consists of
the total reconstruction and the addition of a third travel lane in
each direction of the Pennsylvania Turnpike (I-76) between Warrendale
Plaza (Milepost 31) and Butler Valley (Milepost 38). The total
reconstruction will be along existing alignment except for the segment
between MP 32.4 and MP 35.5 where the existing curve geometry is being
improved. In addition to the roadway improvements, all four structures
carrying the mainline will be reconstructed. Previously four (4)
overhead structures crossing the turnpike mainline were replaced in
preparation for this project. Construction is expected to start in
summer of 2009 and is scheduled to be completed by late fall 2012. The
current estimate for Construction Costs is $113 million.
The project is scheduled to be completed in Late Fall 2012.
