BRIDGE REPLACEMENT PROJECTS - COMPLETED
Summary:
This Project included the replacement of two bridges and roadway
approaches, one at milepost 4.33 and the second at milepost 8.96
in Lawrence and Beaver Counties, Pennsylvania. The bridge replacements
were completed on schedule, and reopened to traffic on November
1, 2006.
The bridge located at milepost 4.33 carries Huston Road (State
Route 3011) over the Turnpike’s mainline (Interstate 76) in
Little Beaver Township. A new concrete box beam structure replaced
the existing steel girder bridge.
The bridge located at milepost 8.96 carries State Route 351 over
the Turnpike’s mainline (Interstate 76) in Big Beaver Township,
Beaver County. Milepost 8.96 is approximately seven miles east of
the Gateway mainline toll facility at the western end of the Pennsylvania
Turnpike system near the Ohio border. A new concrete box beam structure
replaced the existing steel girder bridge.
