PROJECT TOTAL: $125 Million
The purpose of this web site is to provide you with timely, accurate construction project information to facilitate a favorable travel experience when using Pennsylvania's Turnpike system.
Keeping you informed about planned construction activity on the Turnpike will help you to prepare for safe navigation through construction work zone areas.
This project consist of the total reconstruction and the addition of a third travel lane in each direction of the Pennsylvania Turnpike (I-76) between Irwin (Exit 67) and New Stanton (Exit 75). The total reconstruction will be along existing alignment except for the segment between MP 70.5 and 71.5 which will be along new alignment. In addition to the roadway improvements, all structures either crossing the Turnpike Mainline or carrying mainline will be reconstructed. The addition of a third travel lanes will be achieved by using retaining walls to minimize the expansion of the roadway foot print. Noise Walls will also be used extensively to minimize noise impacts to adjacent properties. Construction is expected to start in spring of 2006 and is scheduled to be completed by late fall 2010. The current estimate for Construction Costs is $125 million.
The project is scheduled to be completed in late fall 2010.
