Total Reconstruction MP 67 to 75: Travel Advisory

Traffic Advisory

August 18, 2008

Beginning Monday, August 18, 2008 and continuing for approximately 6 months, a one morning pace/stoppage will occur each day Monday through Thursday and Saturday, lasting approximately 20 minutes each. The pace/stoppage will occur between Milepost 67 (Irwin Interchange) and Milepost 75 (New Stanton Interchange) in Westmoreland County, PA.

All lanes Eastbound and Westbound will be affected for the duration of this daily 20 minutes pace/stoppage.

The daily stoppages are for blasting for bulk rock excavation associated with preliminary work associated with the future realignment and reconstruction of portions of the Turnpike mainline between MP 70.5 and 72.5. Weekday blasts will occur between 9:00 A.M. and Noon and Saturday blast are planned for early morning.

Beginning Monday, July 7, 2008 and
continuing until late fall 2008.

Traffic Advisory

Liberty Hill Road (T-534) in the vicinity of the Pennsylvania Turnpike in Arona Borough & Hempfield Township, Westmoreland County will be closed for culvert construction and associated utility work until late fall 2008.

DETOUR ROUTE:

Traffic will be detoured over SR 3071 (Arona Road) and S.R. 3016 (Madison Road).

PROJECT:

The culvert construction and associated utility work
are being performed as part of
preliminary work associated with the future
realignment of the Turnpike in this area.

MOTORISTS ARE URGED TO USE CAUTION IN THIS AREA,
AND REMEMBER TO GIVE
PENNSYLVANIA TURNPIKE HIGHWAY WORKERS A
"BRAKE."
