I-68 to PA Route 43 - Project Information

Mason-Dixon Link

The Pennsylvania side of the Mon/Fayette Expressway's Mason-Dixon link is 7.8 miles long and cost $140 million.  It generally parallels PA Route 857 in a north-south direction and connects to the 3.5 mile PA Route 43 (the Chadville Demonstration Project).  Construction has begun on the 4.2 miles in West Virginia.  When the total project is complete, the expressway will end with an interchange at Interstate 68 near Morgantown.

  • Enter and exit at Big Six Road, Rubles Mill Road and Gans Road.

  • Toll booths are located on the ramps at the Rubles Mill Interchange for motorists entering the southbound lanes or exiting the northbound lanes.

  • All other traffic will be tolled at a six-lane mainline plaza approximately one mile north of Rubles Mill Road.

  • Automated toll technology will accept $1 and $5 bill, coins and PTC Commercial Cards.  Equipment will issue change and receipts.

  • 1.6 miles from Gans Road south to the state line will be closed until the West Virginia leg is completed.
