Design Advisory Teams

In several communities with particularly sensitive community cohesion issues and numerous displacements, Design Advisory Teams (DATs) were established to facilitate the discussion and integration of the aesthetic treatments, design features and other enhancements.

The formation of DATs in specific areas of the project was a commitment that was initially proposed in the Draft Environmental Impact Study (DEIS) and later stipulated in the Record of Decision (ROD). These teams were formed to address specific issues within certain geographic areas that were most appropriately resolved during the final design phase of the project. The areas where the DATs were formed included Dravosburg, Turtle Creek, Braddock/Rankin/Swissvale, Nine Mile Run (including Duck Hollow) and Glenwood to Bates (including Hazelwood and South Oakland).
