Funding Crisis
PA Response – Act 44

Act 44 is a cost-effective, inflation sensitive user fee based solution that will provide substantial new revenue for the reconstruction and maintenance of I-80 in Pennsylvania. If I-80 is converted to a toll road, nearly half of all interstate mileage will be self-funded by user fees that don’t rely on fossil fuel taxes and aren’t as effected by VMT declines or economic instability. This frees up fuel tax income for other vital transportation needs.
