Authorized the PA Turnpike to lease I-80 from PennDOT for 50 years
Allowed the PA Turnpike and PennDOT to jointly apply to the Federal Highway Administration under a tolling pilot program for the right to operate and toll I-80.
Funding Summary
If I-80 is tolled, Act 44 will provide:
$1 billion average per year over the next 12 years
$10 billion to reconstruct & rehabilitate Interstate 80
$83.3 billion over 50 years paid to PennDOT
