The Public Involvement Program is an important element of the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission’s (PTC) and PennDOT’s I-80 Tolling Project development process. There will be many opportunities for the public to get involved as plans are developed to convert I-80 to a toll road.
PTC and PennDOT officials have heard the concerns of the communities since the passage of Act 44 and are fully committed to meeting with the communities and continuing the dialogue every step of the way. By reaching out with public surveys and public meetings, a meaningful two-way dialogue with motorists and residents in communities along the 311-mile corridor will occur and concerns will be addressed.
The public involvement tools and techniques that will be utilized include:
Website (www.paturnpike.com/I80)
Public Meetings
Rest Area Information Stations
County/Municipal Information Stations
Legislative Advisory Committee
I-80 Speakers Panel
Newsletters
Community Events
The Turnpike’s goal is to help communities manage this fundamental change in how people travel the I-80 corridor and understand how transportation funding needs in the Commonwealth are being addressed.
