There have been more than 50 public outreach meetings conducted to date on the I-80 Project.

The Public Involvement Program is an important element of the Pennsylvania Turnpike CommissionPTC's and Pennsylvania Department of TransportationPennDOT's I-80 Tolling Project development process. There will be many opportunities for the public to get involved if plans are developed to convert I-80 to a toll road.

The public involvement tools and techniques that will be utilized include:

  • Website
  • Public Meetings
  • Legislative Advisory Committee
  • I-80 Speakers Panel
  • Newsletters
  • Community Events

PTC and PennDOT officials continue to welcome feedback from local communities and are fully committed to meeting with the communities and continuing the dialogue every step of the way. By reaching out with public surveys and public meetings, a meaningful two-way dialogue will occur.

The PTC’s goal is to help communities manage this fundamental change in how people travel the I-80 corridor and understand how transportation funding needs are being addressed in the Commonwealth.
